Janice Wang - Acting Director, Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center

Dr. Janice Wang has joined the adult CF center as a second CF physician who will be caring for CF adults along with Dr. Cohen. Dr. Wang will initially have office hours on Fridays with future plans of offering more hours on another weekday. Dr. Wang is a native of Queens, NY. She graduated from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in NYC and completed her medical school training in SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. She received her internal medicine and pulmonary, critical care & sleep medicine training at the Hofstra-North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. Alongside cystic fibrosis and sleep medicine, Dr. Wang is enjoying her newfound love of motherhood and if she still has any spare time left, Chinese painting, cooking and baking.

Geralyn La Vecchia, Dietitian - Adult Team

Originally from New York, Geralyn La Vecchia is a recent newcomer to the Cystic Fibrosis Center. Geralyn is a Registered Dietitian and NY State Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist. After four years studying nutrition and dietetics, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut. Following her undergraduate work, she completed clinical work with the North Shore - Long Island Jewish Dietetic Internship. Geralyn also has experience with nutrition education in the community and private counseling.

She currently serves as a medical dietitian and educates patients and families on nutrition/diet education. She works closely with cystic fibrosis professionals to help to improve care and outcomes for cystic fibrosis patients.

Her interests include cooking, dining out and traveling, and she loves dogs.

Li-Chen L. Wann, Clinical Coordinator - Adult Team

Li-Chen L. Wann is the Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Coordinator for the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Li-Chen treats patients and conducts clinical research, and loves being part of the Cystic Fibrosis team.

Li-Chen came to the United States from Taiwan in 1987, received her Master of Science, Nurse Practitioner in 1995, and her Advanced Graduate Certificate, Family Nurse Practitioner in 2007, both from Stony Brook University. Li-Chen has additional experience in Cardiology, Oncology and Pulmonary Medicine.

Li's two teenage daughters and two dogs keep her busy - but she loves cooking for them all, keeping her home clean, and then taking the dogs, Oliver and Blair, for long walks - and longer cuddles in front of the TV.

Magda Fulman, Pharm. D., Internal Medicine Clinical Coordinator, Department of Pharmacy

Magda Fulman is the Pharmacist for the adult cystic fibrosis center. Magda is a registered pharmacist, having graduated with a Doctorate in Pharmacy from St. John’s University and completed her residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Fulman began working as a clinical pharmacist at Long Island Jewish, and joined the Cystic Fibrosis team in 2009.

Dr. Fulman enjoys the Catskills year-round, especially summer golfing and winter skiing, and has settled for owning (or being owned by) her two cats - even though she'd rather have a tiger as a pet.

She began working at Cohen Children's Medical Center in October 2004, took over the pediatric cystic fibrosis duties in March 2005 and joined the adult team a year later. Pat is proud to be part of such a family-centered, caring, cohesive team of professionals.

When not working closely with her peers and her patients, Pat enjoys spending her time with her family, collecting sea glass on the beach, and traveling with her husband John.
